School's out!!! (almost!)
So, now I have come to the end of the road as far as the Univeristy of Phoenix is concerned. It has been both good and bad and if I had to do it all over again, I most likely would. Even though I have done all be two of my classes online, I have had my fair share of good and bad professors. The best that I had was a math teacher that helped me pass the second part of a 10 week course without ever seeing the first five weeks to begin with. It helped that while I was doing this class, that I took my book with me everywhere. I have two more classes that I can complete online at the local community college. I just hope that I get some decent instructors there as well.
Now that I have my geek degree, I'm wondering how long it will be before I start making the big bucks. My idea of "big bucks" is probably different than most people's idea in that I consider making $60k per year more than enough. I figure that if I ever see $100k per year that I will be blessed beyond measure. Keep in mind that I have been in the military living on an E-4's pay with a wife and small child. From there, we graduated to making mid $20's and were struggling to make ends meet. We then moved to Texas to make $28k per year and thought that we would have it made. Somewhere along the way, cost of living went through the roof. The best that I have ever made per annum was $45k. Talk about a shock to be able to put money into the bank! Good thing we did too! Five months to the day later, I was laid off. Seven months after that, I was back to making less than $30k per year. Here I sit now making about $37,500 and struggling to make ends meet with two kids that are growing faster than I remember myself growing up. $60k would be nice to say the least.
